Wood-Wick Care & Maintenance

Wood wicks create a beautiful crackling flame but require a little extra care:

* Trim the wood wick to approximately ⅛–3/16 inch before every burn.
* Remove loose, blackened wood before relighting, but avoid trimming the wick too short.
* When lighting, hold the flame across the entire width of the wick for approximately 10–20 seconds.
* During the first burn, allow the wax to melt completely to the edges of the vessel. This usually takes approximately 2–3 hours and helps prevent tunneling.
* Keep each burn session between 3–4 hours maximum.
* Allow the wax to cool and firm completely before trimming or relighting.
* If the flame becomes too tall, flickers excessively, or produces smoke, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, trim the wick, and relight.
* Keep the wax pool free from wick pieces, matches, and other debris.

Candle-Care Do Nots

For the safest and cleanest burn:

* Do not leave a burning candle unattended.
* Do not burn for longer than four hours at a time.
* Do not place near drafts, fans, vents, curtains, or anything flammable.
* Do not burn within reach of children or pets.
* Do not move or touch the candle while the wax or vessel is hot.
* Do not use the lid to extinguish the flame.
* Do not add water, fragrance oil, wax, herbs, crystals, or other materials to the candle.
* Do not burn on an unstable or unprotected surface.
* Do not burn a candle with a cracked, chipped, or damaged vessel.
* Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom.

Always burn your candle on a level, heat-resistant surface.
