Rooted Ritual — Ember Shade Candle
Earthy • Woodsy • Fresh
Rooted in love. Inspired by adventure. Made to remember.
Created to celebrate our anniversary, Rooted Ritual is inspired by the hikes my husband and I used to take and our shared love for the Pacific Northwest. It captures something familiar to us—the earthy scent of the woods, moss-covered trails, and time spent exploring together.
Fresh citrus opens the fragrance, followed by earthy mushroom and moss. Smooth sandalwood and cedar bring a comforting woodland warmth. To me, this is such a PNW scent. It brings me back to being beneath the trees with him, enjoying the place we call home.
Poured in white wax, Rooted Ritual features woodland mushrooms, moss, crystals, and a glowing lantern—a reflection of our love for the forest and the memories we have made along the way.

The Ritual: Rooted in Us
Love • Connection • Gratitude • Growth
Rooted Ritual is an invitation to remember the experiences that brought you closer and make time for more of them.
For this ritual, let citrus symbolize the excitement of a new adventure. Mushroom and moss represent connection and the quiet ways a relationship grows. Sandalwood brings to mind familiar comforts, while cedar symbolizes the roots you have built together.
Place your candle on a level, heat-resistant surface, away from anything flammable. Take three slow breaths and think about your shared story—a favorite hike, a place that feels like yours, or an ordinary day that became a treasured memory.
Light the candle and say:
“I honor the roots we have grown,
the paths we have walked,
and the memories we carry.
May we keep making time for each other
and finding new places to explore.”
Share a memory, look through old photographs, or plan something you have missed doing together. Ask each other: What is one adventure you would love to revisit? What should we make time for next?
Sometimes reconnecting begins with remembering what you have always loved.
Use this ritual for anniversaries, quiet evenings together, or a moment of appreciation for the life you are building. Extinguish your candle before leaving the room or becoming sleepy.

Approximate burn times depend on proper candle care. Wick maintenance, burn length, drafts, and room conditions can affect how quickly your candle uses wax.
Wood Wick Care & Candle Safety
Before lighting, make sure the wax is cool and firm. Trim the wood wick to approximately ⅛–¼ inch, removing loose charred pieces and keeping the wax free of debris. For candles with multiple wicks, trim and light every wick.
Hold the lighter at the base of the wood wick until it catches. During the first burn, allow the melt pool to spread toward the edges without exceeding four hours.
Burn for 2–4 hours at a time on a level, heat-resistant surface away from drafts. Let the candle cool completely before trimming, moving, or relighting.
Stop using the candle when approximately ½ inch of wax remains.
Never leave a burning candle unattended or burn while sleeping. Keep away from children, pets, curtains, greenery, and anything flammable. Do not touch or move a hot vessel, add water or other materials to the wax, or use the lid to extinguish the flame. Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes unusually high or produces persistent smoke.
How to Use the Ritual Melt
Remove the cap and squeeze a small amount into a warmer dish designed for wax melts. Start small and stay within your warmer’s capacity. Replace the pouch cap after use and follow the warmer manufacturer’s instructions.
Enjoy the fragrance while the warmer gently heats the wax. Wax melts release fragrance as they warm; the wax itself remains in the dish.
When finished, switch off and unplug an electric warmer. Allow the wax and dish to cool completely. Once cool, wipe the soft wax out with a paper towel and dispose of it in the trash.
Do not add water, light the wax directly, heat the pouch, or pour wax down a drain. Keep away from children and pets. Do not ingest or apply to skin. Never touch hot wax, move a hot warmer, or leave it unattended while operating.
