Wick Trimmer – Ritual Candle Care Tool
A wick is the heart of a candle flame, and trimming it is part of the ritual. This stainless-steel trimmer is crafted to keep your candles burning clean, bright, and intentional. With a heavy, smooth feel and deep reach, it clips wood or cotton wicks at the perfect height for your next burn—honoring the candle’s life cycle and inviting a steadier, more powerful flame.
Candle magic begins with care. Keeping your wick trimmed protects the energy of the candle, prevents smoke from clouding your space, and ensures your flame burns with purpose—not chaos.
⸻
How to Use This Wick Trimmer (Ritual Instructions):
Before Lighting:
1. Allow the candle to cool completely.
2. Trim your wick to ⅛–¼ inch (wood wicks stay shorter than cotton).
3. Remove loose ash or burnt pieces from the surface—never leave debris in the wax.
4. Set an intention, breathe, and light the fresh wick.
During the Burn:
• Allow the first burn to melt the wax to the edges—this sets the memory pool.
• Keep your candle away from drafts to avoid a dancing flame.
• If the flame grows too tall, extinguish, trim, and relight.
After the Burn:
• Always trim again before your next light.
• Wood wicks naturally build carbon tips—clip them every time.
⸻
Why Wick Trimming Matters:
Trimming:
✨ reduces soot + smoke
✨ prevents mushrooming + flame jump
✨ extends burn time
✨ strengthens scent throw
✨ encourages even wax pools
✨ protects the vessel + the flame
A trimmed wick is a controlled flame—longer burning, cleaner burning, and far more intentional.
⸻
Wood Wick Rules (VERY IMPORTANT):
Do NOT:
🚫 Leave your wood wick long—this causes soot, smoke, & self-extinguishing.
🚫 Burn a wood wick if the carbon tip isn’t trimmed.
🚫 Leave trimmed wick pieces in the wax—wax will suffocate the flame.
🚫 Burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
🚫 Burn near vents or fans—wood wicks hate drafts.
🚫 Relight a drowned wood wick without trimming first.
🚫 Light without letting wax fully harden between burns.
⸻
Wood Wick Quick Care Summary:
• Keep wick at ⅛” always
• Trim before every burn
• Remove debris
• Control drafts
• Never leave candle unattended
• Extinguish if flame becomes smoky or flickering
Processing Time:
If you are ordering a wick trimmer with a candle, your order will follow the candle’s processing time. Candles require additional time to create, cure, and package properly, so everything will ship together once the candle is ready.
